So it has been a fairly wet winter as many of us know. This is truly a blessing after the years of drought conditions. It is also the inspiration for my most recent series that I am happy to share with you.
With rain comes the abundance of growth and moisture and that is the perfect climate for MUSHROOMS! On my most recent hikes in the Bay Area, I was inspired by the green hills, calling me to get out there between the raindrops and hike! I found on my journeys not only an abundance of fungi, but I also some found objects down by my walks near the bay that became the perfect backdrop!
I have also decided to dive into a bit of mixed media with this series, many have soil made out of torn rice paper, rain drops from nails and grass from abalone shells, just to name a few!
I hope you enjoy the depth, whimsy and playful aspects of this series!
